English for Tertiary Studies

Full Time Course

2023 Course Fees & Dates

English for Tertiary Studies (ETS) is now offered for either face to face or online study through a virtual classroom experience, using Zoom. Both our ETS face to face and online classes provide Direct Entry to a SACE partner institution (see below) after successful completion, without the requirement of an IELTS test.

English for Tertiary Studies is a full-time EAP course for students planning to study at an Australian University, TAFE, VET or Hospitality Institution. The course is designed for students who need to improve their English language to meet admission requirements of the tertiary institutions.

SACE ETS courses include academic English training in:
– Academic reading and critical analysis
– Academic writing
– Academic listening and note‐taking
– Oral presentations and tutorials
– Research and study skills
– Grammar

English Entry requirements:
ETS 1: SACE Intermediate / IELTS 5.0 / equivalent
ETS 2: SACE ETS 1 / IELTS 5.5 / equivalent
ETS 3: SACE ETS 2 / IELTS 6.0 / equivalent
ETS 4: SACE ETS 3 / IELTS 6.5 / equivalent

Timetable

25 Hours per Week
Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 3:15pm
Fridays, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Course Duration & Levels

Students may enrol from 12 – 48 weeks, this will depend on the ETS level they start from.

SACE offers four levels of ETS, these are:
ETS 1 > for courses with IELTS 5.5 requirement.
ETS 2 > for courses with IELTS 6.0 requirement.
ETS 3 > for courses with IELTS 6.5 requirement.
ETS 4 > for courses with IELTS 7.0 requirement.

Academic English Preparation (Online)

Part Time Course

Academic English Preparation is an online course that allows students to start their English studies towards meeting the entry requirements for Australian TAFE, VET and universities, while international borders are closed.
